GES Solutions Joins AQST and AIQS Seminar on Procurement and Supply Chain Resilience

On Thursday 8 October 2026, the Association of Quantity Surveyors Thailand (AQST) and the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) held a joint seminar at [venue name], Bangkok. The seminar brought together quantity surveyors, cost managers, contractors, developers and consultants from across Thailand and the wider region. They addressed a question that now shapes nearly every project budget: how do we procure well when material prices, lead times and labour availability are hard to predict?

Why the topic matters now

For Thai construction clients, the past few years have shown that a competitive tender price is only part of the picture. Disruption to supply chains, volatile commodity prices and longer lead times on imported MEP equipment and finishes can turn a sound award decision into a cost overrun or a delay claim. The procurement route, the contract’s risk allocation and the strength of the supply chain behind each bidder now matter as much as the headline number.
